Orrido of Botri | A natural canyon

Bagni di Lucca | Lucca.
In 1971 it became a nature reserve, managed by the State Forestry Department. Here you can admire the eagle with its majestic flight.

Grotte del Vento

Fornovolasco Vermoli | Lucca.
The name derives from the strong air currents that flows through this area, caused by the difference between the external and the internal temperatures, that is constant, at +10.7 °C.

Searching the ancient crafts

A tourist itinerary searching the ancient crafts through the Plain of Lucca and along the courses of the Serchio and Lima rivers, up to the mountains of Garfagnana, to rediscover the old crafts, including bronze-workers, potters, blacksmiths and figurine makers.


Families like the Hotel & Terme Bagni di Lucca for its quiet position, far from the city chaos but close to amazing adventure parks, ideal for both adults and children.


It is located in the municipality of Vergemoli, in the road that leads to Grotta del Vento and includes a wide range of attractions:

  • - 9 climbing walls with increasing difficulty level;
  • - 1 climbing wall for children;
  • - 3 canyoning routes;
  • - 1 canyoning path for children;
  • - 1 sensory itinerary;
  • - 8 dry falls to be descend;
  • - Canoeing and rafting tours
  • - Diving;
  • - Diving platforms (from 3 to 16 meters);
  • - Trekking through Garfagnana legends
  • - 3 caves to explore (on booking);

The day pass has a cost of € 35,00 for adults and of €.15,00 for children. All the visitors will be followed by expert guides and provided with all the equipment necessary to deal with the various activities.


It is located in the municipality of San Romano in Garfagnana and offers the opportunity to try a lot of strange activities on the trees such as walk down suspended Tibetan bridges, experience “Tarzan-style” seesaws or pulleys among the wood trees, all with the highest safety guaranteed by park instructors.

  • - Children itinerary: €. 12,00 (duration: 1 hour and a half) with equipment;
  • - Adults and teens itinerary: €. 18,00 (duration: 2 hours and a half) with equipment


it is located in the municipality of San Romano and offers canyoning activities consisting in descents, abseiling and jumps wearing a diving suit, a helmet and non-slip safety shoes.

There are two available itineraries:

RIO PINGUINI, inside the Battifero Park: it is an initiation canyoning, suitable for children and adults, to try alone or in groups, in the crystal-clear waters of the Turrite of Fornovolasco. The pathway has a duration of about one hours and a fee of 10,00 €. per person.

- FOGLIAIO creek: advanced-level canyoning, mainly focused on abseiling in an amazing environment; it has a duration of about 2 hours and a fee of 30,00 € per person.

Expert guides provide you with the suitable equipment (diving suit, helmet and shoes) and will assist you during the whole experience. 

Furthermore, it is possible to explore iron mines and run down a slope through a completely rebuilt telpher.
